It is characterised by a slightly stiff and firm texture, being of high amylose and low protein content. The rice is therefore less sticky and has a lighter flavor.
The production gives a higher crop yield compared to other Hokkaido rice like Nanatsuboshi and so offers a more affordable price to customers.
This rice is highly unique since it is originally produced by Matsubara Beikoku Co., Ltd. and the contracted farmers in Hokkaido who are passionate in cultivating rice.
